HP Makes Good On Support

If you read the original complaint I had with HP's technical support of the Pavilion PC, you will remember that HP would not make any exception in their support policy, even though it made sense to make the exception.

Well, it appears that a public web page on the GJT, and some well placed email, has convinced HP that their policy was indeed short-sighted, and they have made the exception that I requested.

I have since received a replacement drive, installed the replacement, and all is working as expected.

Anyway, I wish to give HP credit for being capable of adapting to the situation. It is regrettable that it took extra effort on my part, but at least HP finally decided to solve the problem in a reasonable fashion.

I am happy to finally have a functioning CD-RW drive on the GJT. Backups can commence!
