Max,

As I just mentioned to John, and have brought up before, the reason is
exactly as you state.  Those files are copyright to Sun, and each one is
marked confidential and proprietary.  If they were so inclined, they could
(technically) pursue litigation over the files.  Although they would lose on
the confidential and proprietary issue (they freely distribute the files
with no criteria or regard), the simple fact is that they COULD make life
difficult for whomever distributed the file in the meantime.
