[jcvs] Linux networked JCVS usage

I have been trying to configure jCVS for linux and have run into a problem. 
I have successfully configured it to access the CVSROOT on 2 Win NT 
machines, however, utilizing the same settings in Linux, I recieve either 
one of two errors... the first I receive when not filling in the preference 
where the rsh path is set, when this is not set I receive an error stating 
that it cannot open the socket (socket 514 to be exact). The other situation 
occurs after filling in the correct path to rsh, at this point it can open a 
socket connection, but receives no data from the server. Any Ideas???? all 
of the .rhost files are in place and the settings on all machines are 
exactly the same. Thanks in advance -
