RE: [jcvs] Getting started, starting with temp directory does not exist
hi randy,
you have to enter any name with which you want to create a module. you need
not take the values from GJT. IT will not give you any results.
Enter the details as follows:
cvsmodule : <the name of the module you want>
cvsserver : < the IP address of the cvs server>
cvs repository: /usr/local/cvsroot
The 'I Hate You' message is not to discourage the future users or
volunteers. It is only a system output message that the user has not been
recognized or is not valid.
as I said earlier, there has to be a valid user with the username and
password . along with the above details, you have to enter the username and
password also in the respective fields.one thing to remember is that the
user has to have create module permissions. to enable that, create the user
in the root directory of CVS.
hope this will help you further.
Pavan.

This is as far as I could get. I still don't know what is supposed to go
in the CVS Module field. Plugging in values for the rest of the fields
with values obtained from GJT's Anonymous CVS page, I took a guess and
tried entering "gjt" for the CVS Module.
That resulted in the following response:
"The CVS Request failed.
Failed authentication with the user name 'anoncvs'.
I HATE YOU"
I'm shocked! What a rude way to discourage future volunteers.
