Fredrik "Fredde" Ehnbom. That is me. I was born 11th of May 1983 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Programming is my biggest hobby and that has resulted in several programming projects.
Among others, I have written an email client,
a library for audio playing,
a 3d-engine and other graphics related
code.
I got my first computer at the age of eight I think. It was a zx spectrum which I used for playing
games. I also did some simple programs with this computer but never really understod what it was I did.
Later I got my first PC and played the game Doom at my friends house. My friends brother had changed the
sound for when you got hit by the enemy from the usual groan sound to "Aj! Sluta!" (which is swedish for
"Ouch! Stop it!"). That was way cool!
Then when I got my own copy of Doom I changed almost all the graphics in the game to my own. It felt
like I had made my own game, an incredible feeling. This was the start of my interest in programming.
Then a new game, Quake, was released. This game allowed you to reprogram some parts of the game, and
while most of my friends spent their time playing it, I was more interested in doing smaller
modifications to it.
After Quake I wanted to do some more "real" programming and started to program in both C and Java.
I liked Java much, much more since it was a lot easier to program in. Also you could run your programs
everywhere, something I liked alot since I use both Linux and Windows.
Then when Java 2 was released in 1998 I started to make my own email client called
Yet Another Mail Manager. This was my first larger programming project
and was the project that pretty much made me the programmer I am today.
